⚠️ Pine Straw Scam Awareness for Homeowners ⚠️
Today, we assisted one of our local landscapers in righting a wrong. Someone in our community was taken advantage of by a drive-by “strawling.” This homeowner was told that 300 bales were installed on their property when in reality, the property can only support approximately 130-140 bales at full capacity.
We want to make our community aware of scammers who oversell and overcharge for pine straw installation. Some individuals will claim your property needs far more bales than necessary, pressure you into quick decisions, or change pricing and quantity once the job starts and is completed.
🌲 Angel Pinestraw LLC is proud to be a local, family-owned and operated community-based business.
We’re here to support and protect our homeowners and landscaping community, not take advantage of them. Honesty, transparency, and fair pricing are what we stand for.
Being informed is the best protection. We have listed additional suggestions to help you and your neighbors avoid this from happening.
Protect yourself:
• Ask how many bales are being installed before work begins
• Get the price in writing (per bale and total)
• Don’t feel pressured to decide on the spot
• Be cautious of anyone going door-to-door or asking for cash only
• When in doubt, get a second opinion
Most importantly, verify they are a licensed and insured company. Asking for proof will often assist in determining their legitimacy.
To help you avoid being misled, we offer free resources on our website to help you calculate how many bales you actually need before scheduling an installation.
