Pauline wasn't quite sure what to make of all the commotion.

A few weeks ago, the Goods team and their families gathered at Gratitude Lane Farm for an evening away from service calls, installations and office phones.

There was good food, co****le, an ice cream truck and plenty of time to simply slow down and enjoy being together.

As we head into Labor Day weekend, we're especially thankful for the people who show up every day and take care of the families who trust us with their homes — and for the families behind them who support what they do.

We're proud of the work they do. But we're even more grateful for the people they are.

And Pauline?

She eventually decided having this many unexpected visitors at the farm wasn't so bad after all. 🙂

It started while these homeowners were sitting in their living room watching TV.

Something happened with the electrical system, and afterward, portions of their home no longer had power.

When Tim arrived, he found an older electrical setup with multiple fuse panels and disconnects that had been added over the years. Rather than simply guessing at what was happening, he spent time looking over the system and talking with the homeowners about their options.

They decided it was time to simplify things.

Riley and Sawyer returned to replace the older equipment and consolidate everything into one new 100-amp electrical panel.

For the homeowner, though, this wasn't really about getting a nice new electrical panel.

It was about getting an aging, complicated electrical system into a much better place — and knowing who to call if there are still issues that need to be tracked down.

That's what a thorough electrical evaluation is supposed to do: help you understand what you have, what needs attention, and what your options are before you decide what comes next.

It may still feel like summer outside, but one of our customers is already thinking ahead to winter.

During a recent visit, Don spent some time looking over the home's HVAC system. Because of the age of the equipment, the homeowner decided this was a good time to start exploring what replacement might look like rather than waiting until the system forces the decision.

So Don helped get the next step set up: a visit with one of our Comfort Advisors to talk through the different solutions available for the home.

Nothing has to be decided today. Nothing is broken.

He's simply taking the time to understand his options while he still has options.

Before Don headed to his next call, he planted a Goods sign in the yard and grabbed this picture.

The sign may be what you notice in the photo, but a homeowner getting ahead of an aging system instead of waiting for an emergency is the real story.

Meet Grace.

She's our dispatcher, and a big part of her day is figuring out how to get the right technician to the right home at the right time.

It sounds simple. It isn't.

A repair takes longer than expected. An urgent call comes in. A technician finishes early. Someone needs a specific skill or an extra set of hands.

Grace keeps track of all of it, adjusting the schedule throughout the day and looking for every opportunity to help another customer.

So while you may never meet Grace when one of our trucks pulls into your driveway, there's a pretty good chance she helped get us there.

Winter comfort isn't only about the temperature on your thermostat.
