🔥 5 Fire Safety Tips for Your Home This October 🔥

October is National Fire Prevention Month — a great reminder to give your home a quick safety check. Here are 5 simple things you can do this week:

1️⃣ Test Your Smoke Detectors: Press the test button on every smoke detector in your home. If it's been more than 6 months, swap the batteries too. No detector? No excuse — they save lives.

2️⃣ Give Space Heaters Some Space: Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything flammable — curtains, furniture, bedding. Never leave one running unattended or overnight.

3️⃣ Clean Out Your Dryer Vent: A clogged dryer vent is one of the most common (and preventable) causes of house fires. If it's been a while, it's time for a cleaning.

4️⃣ Check Your Electrical Panel & Cords: Look for frayed wires, overloaded outlets, or a breaker that trips often. These are early warning signs worth taking seriously.

5️⃣ Make a Fire Escape Plan: Walk through your home and map out two ways out of every room. Practice it with your family — it only takes a few minutes and could make all the difference.
