The most beautiful and romantic flower there is…

🌹The Rose 🌹

Not only is it my birth flower it is my all time favourite flower. Last year I added quite a few new bare roots to my ever growing collection and it’s so rewarding to now see them coming into bloom one by one.

I wanted to dedicate my patio area in memory of my amazing mum and for it to be a sea of different coloured roses, so far they are not disappointing me.

“There may be many flowers in one’s life…

🌹But only one Rose🌹”

🧚🏻‍♀️The fairy garden’s coming to life🧚🏻‍♀️

I had a quick look around the garden before work tonight and I’m full of excitement to see it really come to life in the summer.

There’s colour to see and lots of buds waiting to burst into beauty!

Obviously I’m most excited to see the roses in flower, what are you most giddy to see blooming in your gardens this summer?

🧚🏻‍♀️Fairy productive weekend🧚🏻‍♀️

It has been a while since I’ve had the time to spend most of my weekend in the garden.

I didn’t take many pics or vids, but when I’m outside engrossed in gardening I very rarely pick up my phone. I did however take a few (not great) photos and here they are.

I feel like I’ve actually started to catch up, I was feeling very overwhelmed and so behind with my garden jobs this year. I have so many to-do jobs in my head, but I refuse to fall into the trap of putting myself through unnecessary pressure to make my garden ‘insta perfect’. Life isn’t perfect, life is for enjoying!

For me, spending time in my garden isn’t about creating reels or staging the perfect shot for the grid. It’s about connecting with nature and enjoying me time with no distractions. That’s just my personal preference, I like to do my own thing at my own pace. 🧚🏻‍♀️

I do however really admire the people that do put so much hard work into their reel making and insta content, because if there’s one thing i love to do is catch up with a cuppa, scrolling through insta for inspo and entertainment! 😊

Anyway, I’ve got lots done and finally sowed some veggie seeds which have gone into my little zippy and I’m chuffed that I’ve finally started work on my poor patchy lawn.

I hope you all enjoyed some you time in your garden this weekend and made a dent in the ever-growing to-do list!

🧚🏻‍♀️Fairy well February🧚🏻‍♀️

Welcome March!
March is a magical month, and a busy one for us gardeners.

This is the month that the garden really starts to wake up and spring returns.🌷

A busy but exciting month with lots of seed sowing, pricking out and potting on.

Wishing you all a month filled with peace, love & happiness!
Oh,, and lots of beautiful spring blooms.

🧚🏻‍♀️The Fairy’s idea of Netflix and chill🧚🏻‍♀️

Not everyone’s idea of a fun Friday night but it’s my idea of fun. 😊

If you want to practice mindfulness then this is a perfect activity to get lost in. The TV was off, the kids were upstairs and both dogs were asleep. It was a blissful few hours, just me and my plants.

I potted them up, gave them a good water and topped with decorative stones to keep those pesky fungus gnats away.

The plants pictured are (in order of the pics):

💗Callisia Rosata
💚 Chinese Evergreen
💗Red Zirkon
💚 Ananas Mi Amigo (pineapple plant)

Sowing time🧚🏻‍♀️

Happy 1st of October to you all, it’s my fave month and my fave season for so many reasons but one being my oldest daughter is about to turn 17 later this month! 🥺

🍂🍁🎃🥮♥️

Today I have an afternoon to myself, johns at work and the kids are out!

The weathers not great but I’m going to give the pinkhouse it’s Autumn blitz, take some cuttings and sow all the lovely Macmillan coffee morning seeds from the lovely Jan.

These empty candle jars are perfect for putting cuttings into. They have lots of other uses too, I save all my empty candle jars, give them a wash and give them a new purpose.

I’m taking part in todays Macmillan coffee morning, organised by the lovely Jan

It was nice to sit and enjoy a cuppa and think about all the lovely memories I have of my dear mum. I know she was sat right there with me in spirit, only she would be disappointed at the fact there was no cake 😩
I’ve not had the time to bake or buy any yet 😁

The Macmillan team are all angels and they do a fantastic job of making such a different to the people and the families affected by the evil ‘c’ word.

Thank you & for all your hard work that has gone into organising this wonderful coffee morning.💚💚💚

🧚🏻‍♀️Feeling fairy crafty today🧚🏻‍♀️

Do you ever get the urge to make something? All week I’ve wanted to get my hands covered in glue and paint but I’ve no idea what I want to make.

This time last year me and John made a hog hut (sadly it doesn’t look like this anymore, it had a hard winter in the garden), John did the building and I did the woodburning and finishing touches. I can’t say we have had a resident hog yet but I really love it.

As the weather drops cooler it’s important that we think about our little garden friends. Give them something to shelter, hide from predators and hibernate in. Give them a new home to live in. 🐭🦔🐿🦋🐝🐸🐞🐛🐜🐌🕷

It’s also a great way to get the kids involved and enjoy making happy memories and something to treasure forever. 🥰♥️

Are you planning on crafting anything over the weekend?

🧚🏻‍♀️Fairy happy with our little harvest🧚🏻‍♀️

Yesterday evening I enjoyed some uninterrupted time in the garden. I decided to see how things in the pinkhouse were getting on and picked a few goodies.

Max, my curious little potting pal loves to get in on the action and have a good sniff. He even tried taking off with one of the chillies 😂 I’m sure his bum wouldn’t have thanked him if he had eaten it 🐶🤦🏼‍♀️😳

I didn’t video what I got up to, I like to appreciate the quiet time and be as mindful as I can when gardening. It’s rare I get these quiet moments so I like to make the most of them. I did get a few pics though 🥰

There is a calm in gardening that cannot be found anywhere else. When surrounded by the beauty, the fragrance, the sounds, the textures and tasty home-grown snacks I feel totally connected to the present moment.

Sometimes instagram can make feel like you have to video every minute of your day in order to create reel after reel. It may get you lots of followers & likes but I’m not about that and tbh I’m rubbish at doing things one handed 😆 It’s a true skill that I’m yet to master!

Life’s already busy and stressful without putting yourself under more pressure to please the silly insta algorithms (whatever they are, I have no idea and I really don’t care). I do what I like and I always have done (ask my dad 😂), I just like to do what feels right for me and that’s ok.

“Life is like a camera, focus on what’s important
And you will capture it perfectly”
I found this quote online and it is so true 💗🧚🏻‍♀️💚
