The client's main breaker was getting dangerously hot and needed immediate repair. They couldn't afford to do a full 200 amp upgrade, but we still wanted to set them up for the future. Instead of installing a 100 amp panel to replace the one they had, we installed a 200 amp siemens panel and backfeed it with the proper 100 amp breaker. This is so when they are ready to upgrade to the full 200 amps, they dont have to waste money replacing the panel twice.
