Today, we're celebrating the retirement of LeRoy N. from York Building Products and York Materials Group after an incredible 53 years with the Stewart Companies.

A third-generation Stewart employee, LeRoy followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, continuing a family legacy that spans more than a century of combined service. Over five decades, he contributed across multiple areas and roles, ultimately becoming a respected leader in asphalt quality control and innovation.

Known by many as the "Father of SMA" for his pioneering work with Stone Matrix Asphalt, LeRoy's passion for research, testing, and continuous improvement helped advance our asphalt operations and left a lasting impact on both our company and the industry.

While it's impossible to fully measure the influence of 53 years of dedication, we are grateful for the knowledge, leadership, and steady commitment LeRoy has shared with so many teammates along the way. When asked what advice he would share with current employees, LeRoy's message was simple: "Stay level-headed and be willing to learn and listen."

As he begins this next chapter, LeRoy plans to spend time with family, continue to work at the railroad as a Senior Engineer, restore antique equipment, and spread holiday cheer as Santa Claus.
