EQUIPMENT SPOTLIGHT: BACKHOE

A backhoe may look like one machine, but it can handle two very different sides of a job.

The front loader bucket is built for moving dirt, gravel and other material, loading, backfilling and general site work.

The rear digging arm gives us the ability to excavate, dig trenches, work around utility and water lines, handle septic-related work and tackle other jobs that require more precise digging.

That versatility makes a backhoe especially useful on projects where several different tasks need to be completed without bringing multiple machines to the site.

It’s not always the biggest machine on the job — but it can be one of the most useful.

Another project in the books! 🚜

This time, the Dirt Dauber crew completed site preparation and earthmoving for an RV park.

Someday, RVs will roll in and guests probably won’t give the ground beneath them a second thought. But long before that can happen, the land has to be cut, shaped, and brought to the proper grade. Every bucket from the excavator and every pass of the dozer has a purpose—preparing the retaining wall areas and getting the site ready for the next phase of construction.

It may look like we’re simply moving dirt, but this is where the entire project begins. Our work is complete, the ground is ready, and this RV park project is one big step closer to the finish line.
