Human beings have always marked the things they create.
An artist’s signature, a craftsperson’s stamp, or a studio’s logo said something simple but meaningful:
I made this.
We made this.
We stand behind it.
The CAHDD “Creator’s Mark” carries that tradition into the digital age.
The “Creator’s Mark” identifies who stands behind the work. The CAHDD Stage helps explain how the work was created and how much “Human Sweat Equity” contributed to it.
Creators can use the complete CAHDD graphics, write “CAHDD Stage 2” or “CAHDD2,” place a simple ② on the work, or incorporate the stage into an existing signature, logo, or studio credit.
It is a voluntary, low-tech form of transparency that can work alongside metadata, Content Credentials, invisible watermarks, and automated AI labels. For creators who prefer the official graphics, we also provide a free Photoshop tool to help place them on their work.
Our latest article explains the thinking behind the “Creator’s Mark,” what we have learned through conversations and honest criticism, and why visible human authorship matters during this period of technological change.
We welcome your thoughts.
