🚨 Leaking drain & poor airflow upstairs? We found the problems!

This call originally came in for a leaking A/C drain and little to no airflow upstairs. Once we got into the system, we found a few things that needed attention:

🔧 Cracked condensate drain fitting causing the leak
🧊 Evaporator coil heavily impacted with dirt and debris, restricting airflow
🌿 Outdoor condenser coil packed with buildup
💨 An opening in the supply plenum allowing conditioned air to escape

We pulled and thoroughly cleaned the evaporator coil, cleaned the outdoor condenser, repaired the drain, sealed the accessible ductwork/plenum, installed a fresh filter, and checked system operation afterward.

Sometimes the problem you notice is only part of the story. A proper diagnosis can make all the difference!

Oh no! 😱 A simple loose wire, and the next thing you know, the house is up to 80°!

This wire was rubbing against bare copper and eventually caused a short in the 24V circuit. Small problem, big headache — but luckily, an easy fix once it was tracked down. 🔧

Sometimes it’s the little things.

Today’s no-cool call ended up being a failed contactor in the outdoor unit. After replacing it and testing the system, everything was back up and running like it should. 👍

Not every repair means replacing expensive parts or an entire system. Taking the time to properly diagnose the problem can save homeowners a lot of money.

They wanted to move into our community, then turn around and sue a local small business over a cartoon beaver. That’s hard to get behind.

Story time!

This customer reached out thinking they were “just low on refrigerant.” That’s one of the most common things I hear.

The truth is, a lot of the time the issue isn’t low refrigerant at all—it’s poor airflow. A dirty outdoor coil, clogged filter, or other airflow restriction can make your system work much harder than it should.

In this case, the condenser coil was heavily clogged with dirt and debris. The restricted airflow caused the system to run hotter and harder than normal, which contributed to a failed start capacitor.

Regular maintenance isn’t just about keeping your A/C cold—it’s about preventing unnecessary wear and expensive breakdowns.

If your system hasn’t been serviced in a while, now is the perfect time. A simple maintenance visit can help keep it running efficiently and may save you from a much bigger repair later.
