We want to take a moment to address a situation that has recently come to our attention.

An individual who briefly worked with First Call Home Repair on a trial basis approximately three years ago has been representing himself as affiliated with our company. He is not an owner, employee, contractor, or representative of our business in any capacity.

Unfortunately, we have learned that he has been performing work under our business name without our knowledge or permission. As well as threatening to take people’s homes from them.

We take great pride in the quality and integrity of our work, along with our customer service and we would never stand behind the kind of situation currently being shared to a local facebook group.

If you are ever unsure, please feel free to contact us directly to confirm you are working with our legitimate team.

Thank you to our community for your continued trust and support. And to anyone who has been affected by this guys scams, I am genuinely so sorry for the damage hes caused to your homes, the things he has said/threatened you with verbally as well as the finacial burden he has caused.

With the upcoming winter storm and freezing temps on the way, we want to help you protect your home from one of the most common (and expensive) cold-weather disasters: burst pipes.

One of the best things you can do before the freeze hits is to know where your main water shut-off valve is and how to turn it off in an emergency.

How to find your water main:
• Most homes have it in the basement, crawl space, garage, or near an exterior wall
• It’s often where the water line enters the house
• Look for a valve with a round wheel or a lever handle

How to shut it off:
• Wheel valve: Turn clockwise (righty-tighty) until it stops
• Lever valve: Turn it so it’s perpendicular to the pipe
• Once off, open a faucet to relieve pressure

Why this matters:
If a pipe freezes and bursts, shutting off the water quickly can mean the difference between a small repair and major flooding and thousands in damage.

We also recommend:
✔️ Letting faucets drip during extreme cold
✔️ Opening cabinet doors under sinks
✔️ Insulating exposed pipes
✔️ Knowing where your water heater shut-off is too
