Dolly....(heavy sigh)....words are so inadequate, except to sum it up "She loved well and she worked hard." May we all show love like Dolly and work hard to do what the Lord has us to do.

Dolly and her legacy always resonated deeply with us as a small family business. We share alot of her gumption for hard working and giving to others. Lord help us to do what You would have us do.

We wanted to take the time to shine the light on our crew, Michael Dowdy, Trevor Dowdy, Julie Dowdy Stone, Richard Manning, Jayden Pugh, Adonis Price, and Aidan Groseclose. These are some of the hardest working folks around. We are proud to have them as part of our family.
We would like to thank Amanda Melton Lathrop with A&J Embroidery for our custom t-shirts and hats.

We always think of our customers as family, and this sweet couple was no exception. It was an absolute pleasure and joy for us to complete this new deck and porch combo. We love how it turned out.

We're excited to announce that the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Area Consortium Board has been awarded $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration to launch Build Your Career, a new YouthBuild program serving young adults ages 16–24 across Southwest Virginia.

This investment is one of only a limited number of YouthBuild grants awarded nationwide and will create life-changing opportunities for 66 opportunity youth in our region.

Participants will have the opportunity to:
🏗️ Earn a GED or high school diploma
👷 Receive hands-on training in construction and healthcare
📜 Earn industry-recognized credentials
🤝 Develop leadership skills
🎓 Connect to employment, Registered Apprenticeships, and college opportunities

At the New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to build a successful future. Build Your Career is designed to help young adults gain the education, skills, confidence, and support they need to launch meaningful careers.

Most people, when they look at this picture, will only see a beat up hammer and a spanking new hat....what we see is an ongoing legacy.
You see Mr Eldridge Felts was instrumental in helping Timberland Contractors LLC become who we are today. This hammer was his hammer. This hammer has built many houses and did many projects through the years. It continues to perform tasks in the capable hands of El's grandson, Trevor. Trevor loves having a bit of his Pawpaw Felts with him on every job he does. Pawpaw Felts taught him the value of doing a job right and if it isn't right make sure you make it right.
He also taught Michael and was our "go to" expert in residence for many years before health issues and his passing took him from us in July 2024. Through his teaching, Timberland Contractors has grown into a business that doesn't need to be advertised. As El always said, "If you do a good job, you will never have to advertise. Word of mouth is always the best advertising anyone can get."
