This is the part of your bathroom you may never see!
That rusted ring is what your toilet bolts down to, and there was almost nothing left of it. Once the metal around those bolt slots rusts away, the toilet can start to rock, and the seal can break. Josh cut out the rotted section of cast iron and replaced it with PVC.
