Posting the pictures from our backyard renovation and patio project we completed in Paxton. This project started with a vision from my customer and long time friends to increase the usable space in their backyard. Back in April we removed a couple trees before the leaves grew in. Then in early summer we graded the yard, removed some more overgrown shrubs, removed several loads of boulders, installed underground downspout piping. We then spread loam from Wachusett Excavating and seed from Pro Lawn Supply to give our customers a usable lawn for most of the summer. We also brought in Mass Ground Worx to install Helical piles for the customers future deck. Finally this fall while the mechanical sub contractors did their thing at the addition project we snuck back over for the main portion of this project. Little did we know this patio was going on an ancient stump dump. We ended up having to dig down almost 4’ to get to virgin soil. We hauled about 100 yards of loamy fill to our friends down the street at City Line Landscape Supply . Despite being tempted to turn this project into a swimming pool we brought back in 120 tons of gravel from Sansoucy Stone. Some delivered but mostly hauled in 5 tons at a time in our CAM Superline trailer. Next we set our Ideal Block Fat Face retaining walls to hold back the sloping grades adjacent to the future patio. Once the gravel was graded and compacted we installed 6” of 3/4” washed stone from Mass Broken Stone Co. and 1/4” chip stone bedding layer. Finally with all the preparation completed we were able to begin installing the Unilock “Beacon Hill Flagstone” pavers. The pavers were laid thanks to a thanks to a huge assist from M&T Landscaping & Construction. We cut in our precision curved borders and finished the patio with SRW Products Wet Lok permeable joint sand. This was a huge project that we are very proud of and we couldn't have done it without all of our partners. Especially Charcuterie Woo, who kept us fed throughout the project.
