The shower pan repair in Canton, GA turned out pretty good. Plan all came together. Took out the bottom foot of tile and built a waterproof pan and put it all back together.

We're never wrong about these showers.

How do you KNOW all these things from looking at pictures? How do you KNOW all these things without demolition?

Well, I suppose we don't KNOW but we are EXPERTS and we are PATTERN RECOGNIZERS.

✅wrong drain
✅no pre slope
✅didn't keep the weep holes clear
✅mixed shower waterproofing systems (water in water out and contained system---not one or the other)

It's a JUNK SHOWER and needs to come OUT!

It'll be an UNSANITARY MESS in short order full of mold and bacteria and PROBABLY LEAK.

We advised this homeowner on the phone that this was a shower built OUTSIDE of tile installation standards. Based on what we can SEE, what makes you think any of the rest of it is right?

Those building standards are there because the tile installation techniques are proven to WORK.

They need to be FOLLOWED because of the EXTREME CONDITIONS inside a shower.

So, we tore it out and no surprise---we were right again.

No PRE SLOPE under a rubber liner and clogged weep holes means GROSS WATER sits in the pan for years and never leaves the shower.

"BUT BUT they used a topical waterproofing!"

yes, stupidly mixing systems and USING THE WRONG DRAIN. They should be using a BONDING FL**GE DRAIN not a 3-piece clamping drain. A DEAD GIVE AWAY!

People have no idea what they're doing when it comes to showers.
