🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day Weekend from Comfort Medics!

While many are enjoying the long weekend, we’re still on call for your comfort.

Our last call of the day came from a new customer whose A/C had stopped cooling. Upon diagnosis, we found failed electrical components in the outdoor condensing unit, along with a compressor that had overheated and gone into thermal protection.

With the homeowner’s approval, our technician went straight to work — cooling the compressor while replacing the failed components and inspecting the rest of the system to make sure there wasn’t another problem waiting around the corner.

And with temperatures hitting 100°F today, there wasn’t much time to waste.

Before leaving, we had the system back online and verified:

✅ Proper refrigerant charge
✅ Compressor & motor amp draws
✅ Operating pressures and temperatures
✅ Electrical components
✅ Overall system performance

The result? Cold air restored and another family comfortable for the holiday weekend.

Georgia Power’s Home Energy Improvement Program now includes a rebate for qualifying HVAC maintenance and tune-ups.

To qualify:

✅ You must be a Georgia Power residential customer
✅ Your system must be a heat pump and/or electric furnace

✅ The required system checks must be performed
✅ Limited to one rebate per system annually

Sometimes the whole construction schedule comes down to moving one air conditioner.

This homeowner is adding onto their home and realized at the last minute that the outdoor unit was sitting right where the new addition needed to go.

One call to Comfort Medics and our crew was onsite, carefully relocating the system to its new home and getting everything reconnected, tested, and cooling again in no time.

This may have been a smaller project, but it’s only Phase One. As the renovation continues, we’ll be returning to install an entirely new duct system and upgrade the HVAC equipment as well.

Now THIS is a blown compressor.

A new customer called us this week after their air conditioner suffered a catastrophic compressor failure. The electrical terminal assembly actually blew out of the compressor, releasing the refrigerant and severely burning the high-voltage wiring and connector.

This wasn’t just a no-cooling call. it was a serious electrical and fire hazard. Thankfully, it didn’t become something much worse.

Instead of immediately recommending an entirely new system, we went to work finding the best solution for the customer. We confirmed that the replacement compressor itself qualified for manufacturer warranty coverage, got it approved, repaired the damaged electrical components, and properly set the system back up.

Their home is now cool and comfortable again, and their equipment is operating safely.

A major failure doesn’t always mean you need an entirely new HVAC system. Sometimes it takes a company willing to investigate every option, navigate the warranty process, and put repair first.

WHAT’S HIDING IN YOUR DUCTWORK? 🤢

We recently completed a full duct system replacement on a North Georgia home, and this is what we found throughout the existing ductwork.

Years of buildup, contamination, deteriorating duct materials and debris had accumulated inside the system,in the same ductwork responsible for delivering the conditioned air throughout the home every day.
