I was absolutely honored to have been able to see a philodendron mayoi growing in a recent Botanical garden visit. I was fangirling so hard! It floored me when I realized what I was looking at! The differences in growth habit of a mature specimen, versus that of my adolescent version at home, made me do a double take and I'm so glad I did!

The difference high humidity makes (right) vs low humidity (left). My are thanking me for finally getting along with the program. No brown bits, wrinkled edges, or chunks missing from the leaf because of them getting stuck while unfurling!

Philodendrons are easily one of THE most popular Houseplants. They come in a variety of shapes, colors, textures, and sizes. Most are easily manageable, while some are harder to manage their size over time. All are easily adaptable to different growing conditions and a large amount are considered on the easier side of care. No wonder they are loved the world over!
