Three of our latest heat pump installs, across Northridge and Woodland Hills. A two system conversion on one house, a single 4 ton heat pump on another, and a package heat pump set on a new roof curb. Different houses, same move: the gas equipment comes out, the ductwork stays, and one system handles both heating and cooling. On a 100 degree afternoon a healthy air conditioner holds the house roughly 20 degrees below what it is outside. So 78 to 80 indoors is the system doing its job, not failing. Dropping the thermostat to 68 does not make it cool any faster, it just runs longer for the same result. If your house is barely getting below outdoor temperature, that is the part worth a look. This Northridge house runs on two systems, one for the first floor and one upstairs, and both are now inverter heat pumps. The old furnaces, condensers and coils came out, new pads went in, the existing ductwork stayed where it was, and the gas piping is permanently capped. Downstairs is a 4 ton rated at 20 SEER2 and 9.5 HSPF2. Upstairs is a 3 ton at 19 SEER2 and 8.3 HSPF2. Permits and HERS testing were part of the job. Free estimate: (818) 390-9943

This Westwood install finished on the roof. A new curb went down, then a 5 ton Friedrich heat pump rated at 17 SEER2 and 8.5 HSPF2. The gas furnace, condenser and coil came out, the ductwork stayed, and the gas line is permanently capped. One system now handles heating and cooling. A Woodland Hills home traded a gas furnace and AC for a 3 ton ACPRO heat pump rated at 18.6 SEER2 and 11.7 HSPF2, which is at the efficient end of what we install. Airflow is the whole job for an outdoor unit. Shrubs, fence boards and stacked patio items press right up against the cabinet and the system ends up fighting for air it cannot get. About two feet of clear space on every side, and nothing on top, is all it takes. Questions? (818) 390-9943
