Tennessee is one of the States that regulate locksmiths. Make sure that the locksmith you call is in fact licensed. If they are not you most likely will become a victim of the scam!

A problem that is alive and well in Nashville and surrounding areas. Please be careful when choosing a locksmith. Make sure that they have a valid TN Locksmith License!! If they don't, make them leave and report it to the TN dept. of Commerce and Insurance!!

People needing a locksmith sometimes find their calls answered by an out-of-state phone bank — which then sends a swindler out on the service call. The con men are listed in the phone book and online — and that's a problem for genuine locksmiths.
