This was from a tulip tree removal in Biltmore Lake, NC. We had originally planned to walk all of this material out after cutting it into rounds. But after setting up a zip line for the brush, we chose to get creative with the logs as well. We used this same system to remove every single log, and brush pile from the backyard. The bundles of brush were cinched down and lifted, and floated right to the street. This was one of my favorite jobs I think we've ever done. It really exhibits the level of technical skill we have gained over the years. Each of these bundles, and logs weighed between 200 and 400 lbs each. And if you understand "vector forces" the euiptment we were using at some points, experienced as much as 400% more force, Particularly as the stem I was removing got shorter. Proud of my crew today. We had a really big job with 6 crane removals coupled with some canopy reduction pruning in 3 mature trees. Dream team knocked it out in a single day! We've come a long way. Rebecca reminded me that this kind of work was something I have aspired to since I started Gravity Works. Back at it after a month on paternity leave. Not surprisingly, we still have a lot of storm work. This massive black locust in Asheville was heavily undermined due to a water main break that was caused by a neighboring tree uprooting. The rushing water stripped the root system of soil. We wanted to perform the removal using crane support but ultimately the access prevented it. So we climb. Thoughtfully and carefully. We're back up and running full steam ahead. We're safe and well. We have limited cell reception, it's in and out. We have received several texts and are responding as quickly as we are able. We will definitely get to everyone who is reaching out as soon as possible. If you haven't heard back from us by Tuesday, try again! We have just been driving around nearby neighborhoods cutting trees out of roads so that power companies and emergency vehicles can get through, and out of driveways so people aren't stuck.
