Emergency call today. This maple was structurally defective with a codominant trunk configuration which promotes internal decay at the union to the main trunk. The canopy looked great but it finally let go. This could’ve been avoided had it been routinely inspected by an arborist installation of cabling along with some pruning to lighten the weight on the compromised trunk union could have kept it intact for years to come. Have your trees inspected by an arborist that he’s once a year.

We are seeing a lot of lantern fly activity out there as these little guys are in their second instar stage. As we get through July they turn bright red before turning into an adult with pretty colored wings. They are always on the tree of heaven which is their favorite tree and we recommend removing this invasive tree the migrate to your yard. Secondarily we are seeing them on oak trees and Linden trees, though they don’t really discriminate much. Give us a call for an inspection from one of our arborists and some possible recommendations to alleviate this highly invasive insect.

Removing a dead 40 inch diameter oak in Candlewood Isle and the last load of logs is 15,000 pounds. We also hauled out the stump grinder 1.5 yards of topsoil to fill in the stump.
