The handoff is where jobs go wrong. πŸ“‹

Sales makes a promise. The crew has to keep it. If the materials don't match the scope, you find out at railing time, when you're two posts short and the top rail is wrong.

That's why we check everything before the crew starts. βœ…

Builders, operators, salesmen, PMs: what does your handoff process look like? πŸ‘‡

Same price as cedar… so what's the catch? πŸ€”

This composite board is a scalloped profile with a cap on only three sides, and the core is recycled wood and plastic. That organic material can speed up deterioration.

The board going on this deck is 100% PVC: fully waterproof, fully synthetic, and it disperses heat better than composite. πŸ’§

Day 1 in Farmington: the old deck is coming down. πŸ”¨

The plan is to demo, install the helical piers, and start framing. In 5–6 working days, this becomes a 16x20 PVC deck with post skirts and an electric louvered pergola.

Stay tuned for the transformation. (Neighbors, we see you πŸ‘€)

PVC or composite? Depends on what YOUR deck needs to survive. πŸ€”

Composite: wood + plastic wrapped in a polymer cap. Budget-friendly entry point. PVC: 100% synthetic, will NEVER rot, and runs about 40Β° cooler in direct sun β˜€οΈ.

Building near a pool, a lake, or going with a dark color? Go PVC. Want an easy entry point on a home you won't be in forever? Composite gets it done.

Working day 9 in Woodbury, and this ground doesn't forgive bad decisions. 🧱

This soil is straight clay β€” the same stuff that's sunk concrete slabs on other jobs in this neighborhood. So before any decking goes down, we go DEEP with helical piers instead of gambling on a footing that heaves next spring.

Pad's poured now. Everything under this deck β€” hot tub, storage, whatever you want down here β€” stays bone dry. FOREVER. βœ…

How long is your backyard actually a construction zone? πŸ‘‡πŸ»

Average deck? 5 working days. A big one like this 20x33ft build? Closer to 8-10. Add under decking, beam wraps, post wraps, and riser lights β€” tack on a couple more days.

Size and upgrades set the timeline. We give you the REAL number before day one, not after. βœ…

Before your deposit is ever collected, we walk the site with you and lock in every material selection β€” together. 🀝

Fascia color, post wraps, decking tone: confirmed in person, not guessed over the phone. Then it goes straight from sales to our project manager, so every promise made to you actually makes it into the build.

Nothing gets lost in the handoff. βœ…

Day 7 on this monster right on the Apple River. 🌊

20x33ft, with a glulam beam so massive it took a skid steer just to set it πŸ’ͺ. Walk it and you feel ZERO bounce, zero sag β€” two-by-twelves on 12in centers instead of cutting corners.

Riser lights, English walnut decking, aluminum rail with a modern handrail. Built for entertaining, built to last. 😎

Day 6 looks different β€” no deck crew today. πŸ‘€

We're pouring a 16x50ft concrete patio underneath, which means timing it around BOTH the helical crew and the concrete crew without a single ding on this brand new deck. Stringers are set, lower platform's ready β€” pad cures one more day, then we finish the last 6 stairs, post wraps, and under decking.

Day 3: continue framing and DECKING!

When working around helical company schedules and concrete companies schedules we need to find a way to keep moving forward. That’s why we build on our temporary frame so we can keep making progress in this 16x24 with a turning stair platform. Stay tuned for finished product!
