🌩️ TODAYS DID YOU KNOW?
🌬️Wind damage often starts at the roof edges. During strong storms, wind creates uplift pressure that is greatest along the eaves, rakes, and corners of a roof. If shingles, flashing, or edge materials are not properly installed and secured, the wind can lift these areas first. Once a small section is compromised, wind can get underneath the roofing system and peel back larger portions, leading to significant damage.
Why all that above matters. 🫵🏼 After a severe storm, inspecting roof edges for lifted shingles, loose flashing, or missing fasteners can help identify damage early and prevent leaks or more costly repairs.
A well-installed roof with proper edge protection and storm-rated materials is much more likely to withstand high winds than one with aging or improperly installed components.
