Frank Caruso, Jr.
was born in Lynch, KY on December 23, 1927. He was the Caruso, born August 7, 1907 in Norton, fourth of six children of Virginia Gabriele VA, and died May 18, 1973, and Frank Caruso, Sr., a native of Filadelfia, Italy, who was born on January 10, 1893 and died on September 30, 1982.
Frank attended high school in both Norton and Wise, and played on both football teams from 1945 to 1947. He graduated from high school in Evansville, Indiana in 1948 and began working for Old Dominion Power Company on October 15, 1950. With forty years of service, Frank retired on March 1, 1991, having served as Branch Manager of the Wise, VA office for 26 years.
Wise Youth Center, having obtained permission from actor George C. Scott to use the Scott-Slemp house on Virginia Avenue. He was the owner and founder of the Sherry-Hill Mobile Home Court and Rock Bar Enterprises in Wise. He was an active member of the Wise Lions Club and initiated the First Annual Wise Lions Club Horse Show and was named Lion of the Year in 1991. He also worked with the Appalachian Horse Show Association and was owner of Three Sisters Quarter Horses.
Frank Caruso, Jr., a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Norton, VA died on February 3, 1993. Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. Hall Caruso; siz daughters, Mrs. David (Sherry) Yeary, Wise; Cecelia Caruso, Charlottesville, VA Mrs. Ed (Mary Francis) Hawley, Catlett, VA; Mrs. Steve (Pokey) Harris Chilhowie, VA; Michelle Caruso and Tonya Caruso, both of the home; three brothers, Joey Caruso and J. T. Caruso, both of Norton, and Charles Caldwell Ft. Collins, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Ann Short of Norton, and seve grandchildren.
