ANNOUNCEMENT: The Merrimac Ferry is open for the 2026 season! The popular ferry shuttles WIS 113 traffic, bicyclists, and pedestrians across the Wisconsin River 24-hours a day, seven days a week, between Okee in Columbia County and Merrimac in Sauk County.

Wisconsin’s only free ferry takes about seven minutes for a single crossing. Last year, the ferry made 39,734 crossings carrying a total of 208,823 vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.
