Water under a water heater doesn’t always mean the tank has failed. A connection, valve or nearby pipe can leave a similar puddle. The useful first question is: where is the water actually coming from?
Before approving a repair or replacement, ask:
• Is the tank itself leaking, or is a serviceable part the source?
• Will the proposed work address the cause as well as the drip?
• What equipment, labor and connection work does the quote include?
Keep away from standing water near electrical equipment. Don’t remove covers or cap a dripping relief-valve pipe. Leave gas, electrical and pressurized-system work to qualified professionals.
Hurricane offers free water heater replacement estimates, including an initial site walk and customer-supplied installation estimates. Separately requested diagnostics and repairs are priced separately.
