What can infrared electrical testing find?

Loose connections
Overloaded circuits
Failing breakers
Hot spots in panels
Imbalanced loads
Potential fire hazards

The best part? It can often be done while your system is energized and operating.

No Outage Electrical Testing helps you find problems before they find you.

Most substation problems start small and invisible. At No Outage Electrical Testing, we use special UV and thermal cameras to “see” corona and partial discharge on live substation equipment before it turns into flashovers, outages, or costly damage. That means safer gear, fewer surprises, and repairs you can schedule on your terms—not during an emergency call.

Your electrical system can have problems hiding in plain sight.

Hot connections, overloaded panels, and failing equipment often show warning signs before they fail.

Our inspections help catch those issues without interrupting your operation.

Keep your business running. Test before it trips.

Corona on substations is detected by looking and listening for the tiny discharges that happen when high voltage “leaks” into the air around hardware, long before full insulation failure.

What corona is

Corona discharge is a partial electrical discharge that occurs when the electric field around a conductor is strong enough to ionize the surrounding air, but not strong enough to create a full arc. It often shows up as a bluish or purple glow with hissing or crackling sound around sharp edges, connectors, or damaged insulation on high‑voltage equipment.

Why this matters

Persistent corona and partial discharge eat away at insulators, metal fittings, and connectors until they eventually flash over or fail, causing forced outages and equipment damage. By detecting corona early in substations, you can plan targeted repairs, extend asset life, and avoid unplanned trips and safety incidents.
