3+ years of residential plumbing service experience

2+ years lead technician experience

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Experience with water heaters, leaks, fixtures, sewer/drain issues, repipes, and general residential plumbing repairs

Ability to diagnose problems and provide customers with clear repair options

Strong customer-service and communication skills

Ability to accurately write estimates and document completed work

Professional appearance and attitude

Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated

Able to work independently and make sound decisions in the field

Willingness to help train and lead other technicians

Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet and field-service software

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation/driving record

Plumbing license or certifications are a plus but not required

Water Main Break?

When a city water main breaks and service is restored, sediment, rust, and other debris that normally sit inside the water distribution system can get stirred up and pushed through the lines.

This can cause:
💧 Brown, yellow, or cloudy water
💧 Low water pressure throughout the home
💧 Little to no water flow at certain faucets
💧 Debris clogging faucet aerators, shower heads, ice maker lines, and other fixtures

Before calling a plumber for a single faucet with low pressure, check the aerator first!

🔧 How to Clean a Faucet Aerator:

1. Unscrew the aerator from the tip of the faucet spout.
2. Carefully take apart the screen and internal pieces.
3. Rinse away any sediment, sand, rust, or debris.
4. If mineral buildup is present, soak the parts in white vinegar for 15–30 minutes.
5. Reassemble the aerator and reinstall it on the faucet.
6. Turn the water on and check for improved flow.

Many times after a water main break, cleaning the aerator is all it takes to restore normal pressure to a faucet.

System Pressure Advisory ⚠️ Boil Water Notice

The water consumers of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities in Forsyth County are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a significant water main break. See the map in the image below, at the link in bio, or in comments for impacted areas. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

Therefore, when water service is restored, consumers are advised to boil all water used for human consumption (including drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation) or use bottled water.

Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

Water customers are strongly urged to conserve water whenever possible. This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued. Advisory issued July 29, 2026.
