Good projects start long before the work reaches the jobsite. Our Team Spotlight series continues with the team helping turn project plans into accurate, competitive proposals: Estimating.

Our Estimating Team works closely with engineers, project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams throughout the preconstruction process. From reviewing drawings and specifications to completing detailed takeoffs, evaluating pricing, and identifying value engineering opportunities, their attention to detail helps set each project up for success. Their expertise helps VHV develop solutions that balance cost, performance, and quality while giving our customers confidence from the very beginning of a project. Please join us in welcoming Matthew Roy to the VHV team!

Matthew joins us as our new Talent Acquisition Manager, where he’ll play an important role in attracting talented individuals to VHV, strengthening our recruiting efforts, and building partnerships that support future growth.

Matthew was drawn to VHV because of our strong reputation for investing in our people and our employee-owned culture. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, golfing, and spending time outdoors with his two dogs. ⛳ A Great Day on the Course for a Great Cause

Last week, VHV donated to and participated in the Naylor & Breen Open at Neshobe Golf Club in Brandon, VT. It was a beautiful day, and although we did not come away as the top team, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the opportunity to connect with other vendors and contractors. The event raised funds for local non-profits, including OVAA, the Rutland County Humane Society, and Cornerstone Housing Partners.

Held August 9–12, the forum brought together financial professionals from across The Unified Group’s member companies for a few days of learning, collaboration, and connecting with industry peers. Our Team Spotlight series continues with the team that helps keep our projects on track from start to finish: our Project Management Team!

Working closely with customers, field crews, vendors, and subcontractors, our Project Managers oversee every stage of a project, from planning and coordination to ex*****on and closeout. Their leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

By supporting our field teams, managing resources, and building strong customer relationships, the Project Management Team plays a key role in delivering quality mechanical construction projects throughout Vermont and beyond.

The VHV Killer Whales are back on the water!

We had a great time at the annual Lake Champlain Dragon Boat Festival, paddling alongside more than 40 teams while raising funds to support breast cancer survivors and local cancer-related organizations.

The competition was tight, with every race coming down to tenths of a second, but the Killer Whales finished 4th in our division! Most importantly, we had a great time, worked together as a team, and supported a cause that means so much to our community. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the team!

A closer look inside the new Burlington High School and Technical Center.

We recently had the opportunity to tour the project alongside the Vermont Department of Labor and see the incredible progress firsthand. VHV is proud to have provided the mechanical and plumbing plan and specification services for this four-story, 250,000-square-foot campus, designing systems that support classrooms, technical training spaces, administrative offices, and community spaces throughout the building.

Designed with flexibility, energy efficiency, and long-term sustainability in mind, the new campus will provide a modern learning environment for students while serving the Burlington community for generations to come. We're grateful to have been part of such a meaningful project and appreciate the opportunity to share it with our partners at the Vermont Department of Labor.

Our Team Spotlight series continues with the team helping bring projects to life before construction even begins: Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).

Using advanced 3D modeling and coordination technology, our VDC team works closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to identify potential challenges before they reach the jobsite. Their attention to detail improves collaboration, increases efficiency, and helps ensure projects are completed with accuracy and precision.
