Vacation is over and back to our normal posted hours moving forward starting now. I got to go to a real doll show in Shertz, Texas and had a wonderful three hours of shopping until I got hungry. Online shopping from our favorite places to find an occasion bargain is nice, but nothing can replace a hands on experience at a "living in the moment" show. I found business needs and personal wants, coming home a very happy doll person.
I spent the rest of the time making a dent in the store cabinets in painting the insides of them once back. I have not finished them yet, but making progress with needing to purchase another gallon of paint. You forget what muscles are needed for such projects and learn very quickly you have to take it slow and easy to turn out like you want it to. It is an ongoing workout.
I am picking up where I left off on repairs, getting the store back together, and then tackling some of the on going big task more seriously moving into the fall. Here are some fun picks from my trip. Nice to have a refreshed feeling from being gone, visiting with family, but there is still no place like home.

These are just some assorted items I have done along with the ones I listed by themselves the past couple of months.

I have been moving things around in the store causing clutter in some areas so I can repaint and do some mild remodeling ideas I have had to displays dolls and things better. I will post some pictures at the end of summer when I am done. I am doing this project on days we are closed alternating between working on it and museum items. I never have a dull moment for sure.

Until my next posting of work, enjoy your summer.

Summer has brought some amazing project opportunities. Some I cannot post pictures of due to they are future gifts. I have this teddy bear named "Fluffy" that came in to receive a make over. He is a really cute bear that has given a lifetime of friendship to his owner.
Recently I went to watch the Toy Story 5 movie. For me it was a real emotional treat. I laughed, cried, and so could relate to so much of the toy interaction in the movie with the career choice I have. Very good movie for anyone to watch at any age if you have a "favorite" from your past. I have scene them all multiple times and this movie rates up there with their best with pulling off surprises and toy adventure for even us who think we have scene it all.

Have a great summer! I plan to do some remodeling of my store and work on my museum.

Over the past few months of holidays and special events, I had a variety of stuffed animals and dolls to restore for original owners that still love them now as much as they did when they got them. It really is rewarding to see happy bonding of a toy companion or a treasured keepsake doll for an original owner....no age limit.

Here's hoping all of you have a nice summer. I will post new things when I have something special I want to share as the weeks go by into the summer months.

It has been busy in the sewing / cleaning area of my work shop the past few weeks. Here are just a few more finished items I had been working on. Biggest concern is the time it takes to get supplies. There has been longer wait times for getting supplies which in turn causes me to have to wait to finish items I am working on. I have truly appreciated anyone who has been waiting right along with me. These are not all the items in pictures I have been working on, but they are the ones I have finished that went home or will go home soon.

I will post other items this week as they are finished. Have a great week.

In the past few months of this New Year, I have been finalizing work I had to put on hold with deadlines getting seriously close. I had a lot of items out of the ordinary that needed completed that was not for Christmas. These pictures of the items I had been working on with a before and after picture.

Going into this weekend, I have a show I do every year of the Zonta Antique Show in Longview, Texas that I am preparing for. After this weekend, I have some remaining orders to complete I have been working on that I will post their pictures when completed.

I am happy to say that within the next two weeks after this weekend's show, I will be caught up from pre-holiday orders that each needed special artistic detail attention. I do appreciate customer patience. Some projects are harder than others, but each are all equally important. These projects depend on good weather, consistent temperatures, and a lot of wait time between things done to cure, dry, etc... when dealing with glues, paints, and putties. Other times I have to study the item or dolls to figure out the best productive approach to repair it before I do anything to it. The items not doll related in these photos are items scattered out from over this past year of 2025 until recently that belonged to doll repair customers. I am just now getting to gather up their photos to post together with some of the doll work of recent weeks. Some of them can be some interesting challenges just for the fun of it, restoring works of art along side a doll or bear from the same family.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has sent me dolls, doll parts, brought me dolls or supplies in the past few months. Every time I receive an item or items, it is like Christmas for me all year long. I never turn down any doll related item in any condition due to I never know when I might need it to repair a museum piece or to fix someone else's item of need. It keeps the cost investment down for everyone and does make a difference. Special items not needed a lot get to have new friends to live with in scenes I will be sharing later this year.
