Long runs are one of my favorite parts of training for a half marathon. Yes the first mile or two are always rough to get going but once you’re out there with a great podcast I find so much enjoyment from it. For this hour plus it’s just me alone with me no distractions. The podcast today was a great one and they talked at one point about training for a half marathon and the enjoyment he got from crossing that finish line and doing hard things. One quote he made “You never know what you might enjoy until you give it a run”
This is not just a running pun either it is so true in everything in life. Just because none of your friends or you know nobody who does something that you want to do I would encourage you to try it. You may be surprised and you might love it or you may hate it, but you will have tried it and now you know.

Any day I get to strap on skis and gather with others and worship together is a good day in my book! So thankful there are others who feel the same way. Will also always cherish the times of getting to ski with my kids and parents at the same time, Dad is in his 80’s and still going strong!

Today was a very special and meaningful moment for me! It has been a Very long journey for us on getting this house going. To say it hasn’t tested our patience of all of us family members would be a lie. There has been many moments and many prayers of God is this where we are supposed to be, should we just give up on this and find something different. But every time we have asked those questions we have always felt a piece that it will be worth it and something little would happen and we would keep waiting and moving along.

Today we went to see how they are coming with creating a very hilly section into a flat area for a house and creating a driveway. Leah was with us and she saw them moving a dump truck load of dirt from one side of the lot to the other she grabbed Kaylas phone and wanted to video them dumping it. That was the moment for me. It was in that moment that I felt God say to me enjoy these moments. This is what you have been waiting for, these 2 kids are going to get to enjoy this whole process of building this home. They have both been involved with designs and what they want in this home. For me these are things that I just glance over because I do them everyday, but knowing they get to enjoy this whole process at an age that they will remember forever has given me a new spark to this house. I definitely needed it. We still have a long road ahead but excited to enjoy the whole process as a family. Enjoy the small things in life with your kids

Consistency is the biggest thing I have learned that works for me. I have taken the last couple months to scale back on the running some but have stayed with the Sunday morning runs. Every week weather my mind says it wants to or not Sundays is a run day. Getting ready to start training for the next Half Marathon. Should be a fun run with some friends already joining in!
