In this application, 12' x 3' x 1' gabions were chosen to armor this channel and protect it from future high velocity stormwater flow. A strong flow can dislodge even large riprap and decrease the lifespan of a channel. The steepness of the slopes were a factor when deciding to use gabions on this project.

Another successful geocell installation.

Geocells are a great and cost-effective option to stabilize everything from driveways to slopes to multi-use paths. They can be filled by an excavator or dump truck and immediately be driven on top of, to quickly install a new roadway.

Everything came together great on this project, we look forward to seeing it perform well in the long-term.

Arriving at the job site only to encounter soft, wet, or poor ground conditions can lead to frustration. Equipment may remain idle, crews could be on standby, and costs can escalate. Over-excavating and hauling expensive fill can quickly become tiresome.

At US Construction Fabrics, we provide a more effective solution: Tensar Geogrids.

Tensar Geogrids stabilize weak soils efficiently by:
- Creating a strong, stiff foundation
- Reducing the amount of fill material needed
- Allowing for quick and easy installation without special tools
- Enabling projects to progress smoothly even in wet conditions

With Tensar Geogrids, you achieve a more stable base, longer-lasting results, and can maintain your schedule and budget.

Facing challenging ground conditions? We stock Tensar Geogrids — feel free to comment or message us. We’ve got you covered!

Zig Ziglar said it best: “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

At US Construction Fabrics, we live this every day.
We don’t just supply erosion and sediment control materials and geotextiles — we act as an extension of our contractors’ estimating teams and on-site crews.
From day one, we train our team to put themselves in the contractor’s shoes: ask the right questions, understand their challenges, and never be lazy about finding the best solution.
Because when our contractors succeed, we succeed.
Proud to support the hardworking site work contractors building America’s infrastructure.

Challenges of Building on Glacial Till: A Tale of Sinking Roads

In New England’s rugged terrains, construction access roads battle glacial till—a dense, unsorted mix of clay, silt, and boulders. Its poor drainage causes water retention, turning paths into muddy quagmires during rains or thaws. A recent project partially stabilized the road using geosynthetic reinforcement and aggregate. The video shows a heavy loader gliding over reinforced sections but sinking in unstabilized, water-logged till—highlighting incomplete stabilization risks.
