🚨 Community Alert: Beware of Tree Service Scams 🚨

We've recently received several reports about individuals posing as professional tree companies or offering tree work that turns out to be a scam. Unfortunately, these situations seem to be becoming more common in our local area and surrounding areas as well!

Before hiring anyone, here are a few things to look for:
🌳 Ask for proof of insurance.
🌳 Verify that the company is licensed, certified. (This is public knowledge and can be found with a simple Google or internet search)
🌳 Check online reviews and references.
🌳 Be cautious of door-to-door solicitors offering "leftover" work or claiming they were "working in the neighborhood."
🌳 Never pay the full amount upfront before work is complete. EVER!
🌳 Get a written estimate before any work begins.

Scammers often pressure homeowners, especially elderly, into making quick decisions, ask for cash payments, or disappear after receiving payment—or leave behind unsafe, poor-quality work.

As a locally trusted tree company, we believe it's important to help protect our community, even if that means simply sharing information like this. If you're unsure whether a tree service is legitimate, take the time to do your research or ask someone you trust for a recommendation. Although, we would be happy to help, if it isn't our tree company you go with, please ask the questions; get the information BEFORE you agree to the work!

When severe weather strikes, a few minutes of preparation can make all the difference.

🌪️ Storm Readiness Checklist:
✅ Flashlights with extra batteries
✅ Fully charged cell phones & power banks
✅ Battery-powered weather radio
✅ Bottled water (1 gallon per person per day)
✅ Non-perishable food for at least 3 days
✅ First aid kit & medications
✅ Important documents in a waterproof container
✅ Blankets, pillows, and sturdy shoes
✅ Pet food and supplies
✅ Cash in small bills

🏠 Before the Storm Arrives:
• Secure outdoor furniture, grills, and decorations
• Park vehicles in a garage or away from large trees
• Trim or remove hazardous limbs when possible
• Fuel up vehicles and generators
• Know where your safe shelter location is

🚨 During a Tornado Warning:
• Move to a basement or the lowest interior room
• Stay away from windows
• Wear sturdy shoes and keep helmets available for children
• Monitor weather updates continuously

🌳 After the Storm:
Be cautious around downed power lines, damaged trees, and hanging limbs.
Never attempt to remove storm-damaged trees near power lines yourself.
