🏠 From Unused Garage Space to a Beautiful New Living Space

This project was a major transformation for this home.

The space started out as an old, unfinished garage that was in rough shape and had very little practical use. Our goal was to take that wasted space and turn it into something the homeowners could actually enjoy—and that’s exactly what we did.

We transformed the old garage into a large, comfortable bedroom with a great closet, along with a storage room and a separate sitting area that leads into the bedroom.

🔨 Some of the work included:

Removed the old garage door and side door
Cut in 6 new windows
Framed the walls out to allow for proper insulation
Installed insulation in the walls
Dropped the ceiling and added blown-in insulation above
Installed house wrap and window wrap
Installed new vinyl siding on the exterior
Added sheet metal where needed to protect and finish the exterior
Cased and trimmed all of the new windows
Installed a beautiful laminate flooring
Installed new baseboard trim and quarter-round
Added a barn door that is a bookshelf o
Created additional storage space
Finished the walls and ceiling to give the room a completely new look

What was once an unfinished, largely unusable garage is now a large finished living space with a bedroom, closet, sitting area, and storage.

Projects like this are a great example of what can happen when you look at the space you already have and find a way to make it work for your home.

It’s been a few weeks since we’ve posted, but that’s because we’ve been keeping busy!

We’ve been working on several large projects, and we wanted to take some time to highlight one of the jobs our crew has been working on over the weekends.

We’ve been working at Ghyslain Chocolatier in Union City, Indiana, installing a new food-grade drop ceiling and food-grade vinyl wall panels.

This project has required a lot of planning, preparation, and attention to detail to make sure the materials and installation are suited for a food-production environment.

We’re proud of the work our crew has been putting in and excited to see this project continue to take shape. We’ll be sharing more pictures and updates from other projects, in the near future.

A Fresh Look Starts in the Kitchen 🏠🔨

Sometimes you don’t need to completely change a kitchen to make it feel brand new. New cabinets can completely freshen up a space and give your kitchen a whole new look and feel.

We recently installed these new cabinets, and what a difference they made! From updating the appearance to giving the homeowner a fresh, functional space, a cabinet upgrade can go a long way.

We did one really cool thing on this job. We were able to add some floating cabinets and countertop to give the home four extra cabinets that it did not previously have.

Now the homeowner can decide how they want to paint the walls to match.

❄️ Winter is a great time to tackle a kitchen remodel! While things slow down outside, it’s the perfect opportunity to start planning the projects you’ve been putting off.

Another Job Complete,

This 12'6" × 24' porch suffered significant damage, requiring us to remove the old porch and rebuild the structure from the ground up.

We handled the entire rebuild, including:

At Pruett LLC, most of what we’ve been sharing lately has been our construction and remodeling work. That’s a big part of what we do, but it’s not all we do.

New Roof, Big Difference 🏠🔨

This garage roof was definitely ready for some attention. The shingles were so old they were literally falling apart and once we started tearing it off, we found quite a bit more damage underneath.

We replaced 7 sheets of rotted OSB and installed a completely new roof. The entire roof was only 6 squares, but the amount of underlying damage made this more involved than it looked from the outside.

Even with the extra repairs, we were able to get the job completed in 2 days and leave this garage with a solid, watertight roof that should last for years to come.

Another project done right from the inside out—not just covering up the problem, but fixing what was underneath. 💪
