Early Thanksgiving week may run slightly above normal, but bigger changes follow with rain early in the week. I’m still seeing rain chances early Thanksgiving week, with a push of colder air arriving right after Thanksgiving and continuing into early December. Highs are expected to drop into the 30s, with lows in the 20s and even teens, and wind chills could make it feel even colder. Thanksgiving day right now looks dry, with chance of highs only in the 30s so far.
At this time, I’m not seeing anything extreme for temperatures, and there are no major travel impacts expected on Thanksgiving aside from some rain Monday into Tuesday. However, I do expect some adjustments as we get closer. The pattern may become more active end of November into early December, but it’s still too early to get into specifics. What I do know is that a trough will deliver colder temperatures, and with a more active pattern in place, it’s something to watch in terms of what types of precipitation may develop and possibly our first snow.
