Another Cape Lookout Canted is officially off the market — and this one belongs to Dan and Debra Myers!

Closing day is always exciting, especially when it means handing over the keys to a home our team has worked so hard to bring to life.

Dan and Debra, we hope you're ready to settle in, get comfortable, and enjoy everything your new home has to offer. Thank you for choosing Hagood Homes and letting us be part of the process.

Congratulations! Now it's time to make yourselves at home.

The decisions have been made. The finishing touches are finished. And the keys are finally in hand.

Brian and Kathy Lustenring are officially home in their new Woods Cove!

There’s a lot that happens between choosing a home and the day it officially becomes yours, which makes closing day particularly satisfying. Now Brian and Kathy get to enjoy the best part—simply living in it.

Congratulations, Brian and Kathy! We hope you love your Woods Cove as much as we enjoyed building it for you.

Thirty years gives you plenty to look back on.

But some of the most important things are the ones you carry forward.

The homes have changed. The communities have grown. New people and new ideas have shaped Hagood along the way. But the belief that a home should be built around the people who will live there has remained remarkably consistent.

As we mark 30 years of Hagood Homes, we're looking back at where it began—and ahead to what's next.

The wait is over. The keys are in hand. And the Baja Cove officially belongs to Kevin and Gretchen Keane.

There’s a lot to love about closing day, but our favorite part is seeing a home go from something we’ve been building to a place that belongs completely to the people we built it for.

Kevin and Gretchen, thank you for choosing Hagood Homes and allowing our team to bring your Baja Cove to life. Now comes the best part — living in it.

Congratulations and welcome home!

We spend a lot of time thinking about what we want in a home today.

But what about the life we’ll be living five, ten or even 20 years from now?

Families change. Careers change. Priorities change. The guest room finds a new purpose. The home office becomes something else entirely. And features we barely thought about when we moved in can become the ones we appreciate most.

A well-designed home doesn’t have to predict the future. It simply needs to leave room for it.

In our latest blog, we’re looking beyond bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage to something bigger: how to build a home that can change right along with you.

Because the best homes aren’t designed only for today. They’re designed for what’s next.

Some homes just have that “this is the one” feeling.

For John and Janna, it’s their new Cape Hatteras—and now the keys are officially theirs.

We love seeing each version of this home take on the personality of the people who chose it, and John and Janna’s is no exception.

Here’s to unpacking the boxes, figuring out where everything goes, meeting the neighbors and settling into all the everyday moments that make a new house feel like home.

Congratulations, John and Janna. Enjoy every bit of it!

What does “custom” actually mean to you when building a home?

Maybe it’s more windows because natural light matters to you.

A bigger pantry because you actually use it.

A kitchen designed around the way you cook and entertain.

A first-floor primary suite that makes sense for today—and 15 years from now.

Or an outdoor living space where you know you’ll spend half your time.

When you’re building a home, “custom” doesn’t have to mean changing everything. Sometimes it’s changing the few things that make a home work better for the way you live.

So, we’re curious: If you were building your next home, what’s the one thing you’d want to make your own?

Tell us in the comments.

Another beautiful Cape Lookout Canted is officially home.

Congratulations to Don and Elizabeth Woolverton, who recently closed on their new Hagood home! The Cape Lookout Canted has a way of feeling both distinctive and immediately comfortable — with the kind of thoughtful design that makes everyday living just a little better.

But today, it’s not about the floor plan. It’s about Don and Elizabeth getting the keys, opening the door and knowing this one is theirs.

We’re grateful they chose Hagood Homes to build it and proud to welcome them to the Hagood family.

Congratulations, Don and Elizabeth. Enjoy every inch of it!

It’s easy to fall in love with a floor plan.

The kitchen looks perfect. The primary suite checks every box. There’s plenty of room for guests, a home office and that outdoor living space you’ve been imagining.

But there’s a question worth asking before any of those:

Does this home fit the way you actually live?

The right floor plan isn’t simply about bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. It should reflect how you spend your days, where everyone gathers, what frustrates you about your current home—and how your life might change in the years ahead.

Before you fall in love with a floor plan, we’ve put together seven questions worth asking.

Big sky. Wide-open spaces. And a very different side of Hagood Homes.

Our first completed home in Kingbird feels right at home in this distinctive Rocky Point community, where 10-acre homesites and a Yellowstone-inspired aesthetic create room to think differently about what home can look like.

For these homeowners, that meant stone, stained wood, rich finishes, dramatic architectural details and spaces designed around the way their family lives.

The result? A home that may surprise people who know us best for our coastal architecture — and one that says a lot about what building with Hagood Homes is really about.

A Hagood Home doesn’t have to look a certain way to be a Hagood Home.
