Beautiful building! But This customer made my top 3-4 all-time worst customers to work for. We Finished this building at 10:48 am in raleigh nc. as discussed the afternoon prior. I was very clear and concise letting him know Rough time we would finish and the necessity to be paid when finished and to have the build looked over. I had 7k and 5 days of work in this build in raleigh nc. No deposit. customer said he would be there to look the building over and pay me $10,400 at roughly 11 am. I texted him at 9:30 to let him know we were on schedule to finish at 11. No response. Texted again and again when finished. And called him. No response. Texted many more times. Finally at about 12:00 he text me and says “cant get away from work ill call you in a bit. Texted several more times without response. Finally close to 1 o clock after basically begging to be paid dude says i can come meet him in another town 35 miles west down i40 to get paid. he did pay me, after 3 plus hours of waiting and having to track down payment. We Drove back past his exit 319 on i40 roughly 2:45 pm. So 11-2:45 almost 4 hours with an employee on the clock and myself plus an extra 65 miles of driving to collect payment pulling a trailer down the interstate. Then he text me next day with 3 photos, a couple nails to cut off stickin through, a crooked cut on the bottom of a door and a partition wall that doesnt go all the way to the roof that we do not do anyways. Honest mistakes. 1997 times of 2000 ill bend over backwards to make a customer happy. Easy 15 minutes of repairs. But because this customer decided to jerk me around on payment, and cost me almost $500 and four hours of my time, I’ll never go back to this man’s building nor will I honor the five-year craftsmanship warranty we give, nor will i ever step foot on his property ever again. I actually blocked his number. And I would prefer not to work for any customers in the future that cannot pay us when finished. And at minimum communicate. I take pride in my work. I fix all mistakes on all buildings. This is the only customer to ever do this 20 years.
