We often say our work goes beyond the buildings—it’s also about creating opportunities for the next generation of builders. ⬇️

We first met Gabe Schwery, student at Topsail High School, through the Connect for Success SHED Competition, where he was part of the student team paired with Monteith. This summer, that connection came full circle when Gabe joined our Wilmington team through a pre-apprenticeship opportunity.

Gabe spent time on our Wilmington Health Midtown II project working alongside Monteith team members, putting what he’s learning in the classroom into practice on an active jobsite.

We’re proud to be part of opportunities that connect students like Gabe with the construction industry and look forward to seeing where his path takes him! 🙌

After extensive coordination and planning, we’ve reached another major milestone at Wilmington International Airport’s Curbside Phase 2 project: installation of the new pedestrian tunnel!✈️

This milestone is one piece of a larger transformation underway at ILM. The full project will expand curbside capacity, create a dedicated commercial vehicle curb, add a new parking deck, and provide additional surface parking.

We’re grateful to our partners at Wilmington International Airport (ILM), RS&H, and the many trade partners whose coordination and hard work continue to bring this project to life.🙌

Building the future starts with creating opportunities to learn.⬇️

Our team was proud to partner with Cape Fear Community College students on their house project, helping them complete the footings and foundation while providing valuable hands-on experience in the field.🙌

A huge thank you to S&W Concrete for donating the concrete for the footings, United Rentals for providing the Georgia Buggy that made the concrete pour possible, and Citadel Masonry for donating the materials and time to help students construct the foundation block.

We're grateful for our continued partnership with Cape Fear Community College and the opportunity to invest in the future of the construction industry through hands-on learning experiences like these.🙌

📍 UNC Hospitals 7th Floor Heart & Vascular | Chapel Hill, NC

Another milestone reached! 🎉 Phase 1 of 2 is officially complete on the UNC Hospitals 7th Floor Heart & Vascular renovation.

This 17,500-square-foot renovation transformed a portion of the Old Hospital through a complete interior remodel, including a significant mechanical infrastructure upgrade with multiple air handler replacements. The newly renovated space features 18 modern patient rooms, a family waiting area, nurses' stations, staff lounges, and a resident workroom—all thoughtfully designed to enhance the experience for patients, families, and healthcare providers.

We're proud to partner with UNC Health on this important project and look forward to continuing the transformation as we move into Phase 2!

📍Vietnam Veterans' Memorial | Myrtle Beach, SC

This powerful project honors the stories, sacrifice, and bravery of those who served through a memorial featuring a Huey helicopter replica, a quote from President Jimmy Carter, and a 50-foot granite-etched mural that tells the story of the Vietnam War and those who served.

We were honored to help bring the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial to life and are grateful to the City of Myrtle Beach for trusting Monteith to build such an important project. 🙌
