Here are some cool hints and facts regarding this recent fire pit project.

This project is made of 1.5 pound foam density with a layer of high performance carved mortar on top. The mix has a 1 1/2 to 1 ratio, which means it's 1.5 parts sand, one part cement, 12 percent Trinic CarVZ, and water to taste. A hard coat and a carve coat are used to construct the concrete fire pit. We picked a warm and cool gray color palette for this piece, with hints and accents of rust and warm orange tones to imitate iron oxide deposits.

This is a classic wood-burning fire pit. The fire pan was ordered online and installed in a carved hollow, but this unit can also be customized for a propane independent unit. Depending on your location, you can also make different shapes, sizes, and textures. Southwest Arizona, for example, would have more stratified stone with a strong orange and reddish tint. Gray always seems to fit in most places, which is why I use a lot of warm and cold gray. One thing to keep in mind when creating these is that the inner cavity where the fire pan sits may collect water, so it's vital to arrange for a drain line cavity as well as ample space between the pan and the top of the mortar.

We have an 8-hour video on how to carve this that you can get at rocksculptortraining.com/live. We also have color recipe sheets found at the same online location. Have fun carving!

Join us on December 17th for an online workshop where we will be creating a salt and pepper granite boulder! This might be used to make benches, rock water features, planters, and even little accent rocks to help enhance your stamped concrete project.

Many of the participants who attend our classes already have a business such as stamped concrete or hardscape décor. By including small details like these, you can truly set yourself apart from the competitors. It's not difficult to get started, but there are some things you'll need to know right away, and we want to provide you with the greatest training available.

This online session will offer several benefits such as live Q&A, discussion, and Warren Ness, the instructor, will be available in real time to answer any of your questions. The class workshop is currently discounted, with limited availability, at a current pricing of $110 for an Early Bird special. Come and join us! I hope to see you all there in cyberspace!

Warren knocks out the top of the Fire Pit, from our online training course, and gets painting to give it added realism and pulse. Warren uses a earthy and almost rusted reference image to bring the final finishing touches to this project. Looks awesome! That's a wrap, folks!

Scrim is produced by laminating or weaving ARG fiber yarn strands or single end roving into open mesh shape. The continuous ARG fiber strands can work as reinforcement or crack control material effectively. It is also applicable as repairing material to peeling prevention method for concrete members.
