There aren’t many people I’d be planting for during a heat advisory, but Miss Lillian is definitely one of them. Her mother-in-law started the Cape Fear Garden Club and the Azalea Festival many years ago, leaving behind a legacy that continues to shape our community today. After years of tending her gardens herself, Miss Lillian reached out after seeing our work while dining at Brent’s Bistro. We refreshed the containers and garden beds at her beach house and created a new herb garden for her to enjoy all summer long.

It’s been a bit radio silent over here as I immersed myself in the true wonder of Vancouver neighborhoods and its incredible . A surprise to many, Vancouver is actually the same gardening zone as Wilmington, 8b! The funny part of this is that literally no one is going to see this except our family because we live behind a conservation area. It was still a great exercise to build on my skills, experiment with new colors outside of the classics, oh and the glow of the lights from the inside of the house are amazing!
