The owners of this home in Riverside wanted to update their main entrance—both for a fresh look and to make sure the doorway was tight against the weather. An entry door is one of those features that sets the entire tone for the home's exterior, so getting the fit and function right is critical.

We removed the old entryway and installed a new ProVia Ascent front door, paired with a Spectrum storm door. Whenever we swap out an entry system, the real work happens in the prep. We fully flashed the rough opening and reset the frame to ensure it was dead level, plumb, and square. If an entry door is even slightly off-level, you’ll end up with drafty gaps, sticking latches, and premature wear on the weatherstripping.

We wrapped up the project with custom interior and exterior trim work to give it a clean, finished transition that ties directly into the rest of the home's facade.

Now the homeowners have an entryway that operates smoothly, seals tightly against Chicago winters, and gives the front of the house a polished look.

When the homeowners on this Lisle project reached out, they were dealing with a mix of aging exterior issues that were starting to compound—drafty rooms from dated upper-level aluminum siding, old windows past their prime, and a leak over the sunroom that was threatening the structure beneath.

Rather than just swapping out materials on the surface, we took a complete approach to protect the home for the long haul. Up top, we tore off the old aluminum siding and fascia, then addressed the draftiness directly by wrapping the upper level in weatherproofing house wrap and installing a half-inch of rigid foam insulation. Over that solid base, we installed rich Forest green board-and-batten vinyl siding along with fresh aluminum soffit panels and fascia wrap across all 505 linear feet of the eave structure.

While opening up the sunroom roof, we uncovered damaged sheathing along the critical roof-to-wall intersection—a common trouble spot for hidden moisture. We replaced the rotted decking panels, integrated new flashing and underlayment, and tied everything together with fresh asphalt shingles.

To finish off the exterior envelope, we replaced six drafty openings with high-efficiency vinyl windows, complete with custom interior casing and exterior capping to seal out the elements.

The result is a striking transformation—the deep Forest green accents bring out the home's character, while the structural repairs and insulation ensure it stays dry, comfortable, and draft-free for years to come. When the homeowners on this Hinsdale job reached out, they wanted to give their 1950s house an updated look and deal with some long-standing exterior issues. Once we pulled off the existing panel siding, we found a real mess underneath: the original lap siding was still there, patchy repairs were everywhere, unflashed windows were leaking, and there were large open gaps hidden behind the walls.

Instead of completely tearing off every layer—which would have created major issues for windows installed over the old siding—we had to get creative. We filled the wall gaps with batt insulation, sheathed over the holes, and used ripped strips of rigid foam insulation as custom furring strips. That leveled out the angled lap siding, creating a flat, solid plane.

From there, we wrapped the entire home in seam-taped weather barrier, flashed every window and door opening with aluminum drip caps, and added kick-out flashing along the roofline to handle runoff. Once the prep passed county inspection, we installed new textured lap siding.

The homeowner gets a modern exterior, added thermal protection, and full peace of mind that their wall assembly actually sheds water properly now.

When the owners of this Naperville home reached out to us, they were ready to give their exterior a complete refresh. The original siding and eaves had served their time, and the home needed an update that not only looked sharp but could also handle everything Chicago winters bring.

Instead of just doing a straight material swap, we focused on how the details work together. Replacing roughly 27 squares of siding gave us the opportunity to tighten up the thermal envelope and ensure everything behind the walls stays bone dry. Along with updating 300 linear feet of eaves, we swapped out the entry doors to tie the new look together and improve energy efficiency.

One detail people often overlook is water management. With a roofline like this, high-volume rainfall can easily overwhelm standard gutters. We installed custom 6-inch seamless gutters paired with oversized 3x4-inch downspouts. That extra capacity directs heavy water flow far away from the foundation, preventing washouts and protecting the basement long-term.

The homeowner on this Batavia project had a screened-in front porch that just wasn’t cutting it for year-round use. Screened porches are great in the middle of summer, but as soon as the weather turns, rain, wind, and chilly air drive you right back inside. They wanted to enclose the porch with full windows to turn it into a comfortable, usable space without losing that bright, open feel. We removed all the existing screens and set up a combination of single and double-wide Midway Belmont vinyl windows around the perimeter.

The biggest hurdle on this job was that, over time, the old porch had actually settled and sunk down in the front. Because the whole structure was so far out of square, standard window frames left uneven gaps all around. We had to get creative with our interior stop molding and custom exterior aluminum trim coil, stepping and shaping the trim to cover the variable gaps and keep the finished lines looking straight and uniform. Everything was sealed up tight with heavy-duty caulking against water and wind drafts.

A homeowner in Bolingbrook called us out to look at their exterior after some rough weather hit the area. Between the aging siding, worn-out roofing, soffit, and leaking gutters, the whole exterior was overdue for a complete reset. To top it off, one of the main dining room windows was drafty and failing, which needed to be addressed before any new siding could go up.

When you're doing a full exterior update, sequence matters. We replaced the dining room window first—framing it properly, tying in the interior trim, and recapping the exterior aluminum—so the new siding could be integrated around it seamlessly with a watertight seal. From there, we overhauled the roof, siding, soffit, and eaves, finishing it off with new gutters to keep water flowing away from the foundation where it belongs.

Projects of this scale can feel overwhelming for a homeowner, especially when storm damage is involved. We stepped in to help navigate the insurance claim process from start to finish, which covered the vast majority of the overall cost and saved them from paying out of pocket for most of the work.

We wrapped up an exterior project over in the McCarty Burlington neighborhood in Aurora, where the homeowners were dealing with a patchwork of old fiber-backed aluminum and vinyl siding. Over the years, the mix of materials had aged unevenly, and the house was losing a lot of its original character—not to mention showing draftiness during cold Chicago winters.

To fix the thermal barrier, we stripped everything back down to the sheathing, wrapped the home in weather-resistive housewrap, and added fanfold foam insulation before installing new horizontal lap siding in a classic warm yellow.

During the teardown, we discovered that two half-circle transom windows on the house had actually been covered up by a previous installation years ago. We unmasked those to let natural light back into the home and restore the original architectural detail. While we didn't replace the home's entire roof, we did replace the metal roof section to ensure it was completely sealed and structurally sound.

Another key detail was working around the overhead power entry, which required coordinating line safety sleeves so we could safely trim and cap right up to the connection point without compromising the finish. We wrapped all 28 window frames and the front porch beam in custom-bent aluminum trim, then finished off the water management with new seamless gutters and downspouts to handle heavy downpours.

The home finally looks cohesive, and the extra layer of insulation will make a noticeable difference once winter hits.

We recently headed out to Lisle to help a homeowner whose existing wood deck and pergola had simply reached the end of their lifespan. After years of facing Chicago’s brutal winters and humid summers, the original structure was showing significant wear, and they wanted a low-maintenance backyard space where they could actually relax instead of constantly worrying about scraping and staining.

The strategy here was a complete teardown and rebuild on the original footprint, but with a major upgrade in longevity. For the deck framing, we used Diamond Pier pre-fabricated concrete footings, which are fantastic because they minimize deep excavation while providing a rock-solid foundation. On top of the pressure-treated framing, we installed Trex Enhance decking in Foggy Wharf, framed beautifully with a Salt Flat gray border.

One of the most critical steps in any deck rebuild happens where the wood meets the house. We wrapped the top edges of all the joists in protective sealing tape and installed custom aluminum flashing over the ledger boards. It’s an extra step, but it keeps moisture from getting trapped behind the siding, preventing rot years down the road. To finish it off, we rebuilt the custom pergola out of fresh lumber and installed a sharp, code-compliant composite railing system with clean black balusters.

The end result is a highly durable outdoor living area that looks sharp and won't require a paintbrush.

When the owners of this home came to us, they were tired of dealing with rotting wood windows and failing stucco panels. It’s a common issue we see around the Chicago suburbs—older materials just don't hold up well against our freeze-thaw cycles, and maintenance becomes a full-time job.

We replaced the drafty wood units with vinyl windows, using a clay exterior color to match the home's new palette and a clean white inside. The real trick on this one was the custom metal work. We wrapped the exterior sills and casings in a dark brown aluminum trim to give the windows some depth and definition against the new clay vinyl siding.

For the front porch, the homeowners wanted something that felt a bit warmer than standard metal panels. We used a specialty aluminum soffit with a realistic woodgrain finish. It gives the entryway that high-end look of stained wood, but because it's aluminum, they’ll never have to climb up a ladder to scrape or stain it.
