Hybrid insulation systems are a cost-effective way to achieve excellent energy efficiency and high R-values.

This morning, we applied closed-cell spray foam to the ceiling lid, creating a strong air seal and continuous insulation layer. We then added blown-in fiberglass insulation throughout the remaining attic space to bring the home up to the desired R-value.

By combining closed-cell spray foam with blown-in insulation, a hybrid system takes advantage of the strengths of both products—excellent air sealing, high R-value, improved comfort, and a cost-effective approach to energy efficiency.
