🌳 TEXAS TREE TIP TUESDAY 🌳

How far should I plant a tree from my driveway? 🚗🌳

We hear this question all the time—and there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer!

The right spacing depends on several factors, including your soil type, the tree species, and the mature size of the tree.

🌱 Sandy soil: Tree roots may naturally spread deeper and farther as they develop and anchor the tree.

🌱 Clay soil: Roots tend to stay closer to the surface, where they can access the oxygen they need.

Here’s an example:

🌳 Looking at a 100-gallon Live Oak with clay soil?
We’d recommend aiming for around 15 feet from your driveway or house.

🌿 Considering a 30-gallon Holly with sandy soil?
You may be able to plant it as close as 6 feet away.

But remember—every yard is different! The specific tree, soil conditions, available space, and what you’re trying to accomplish all matter when deciding where to plant.

Not sure where your new tree should go? 🤔

Come visit us at the farm! We’d be happy to talk through your space and help you choose the right tree for the right spot. 🌳❤️

The 🇺🇸 Liberty Tree 🇺🇸 has been installed at the newly named, Liberty Park, at northeast corner of 105 & 149. This tree commemorates America's 250th Birthday 7/4/2026 on the edge of our downtown.

Montgomery is moving forward, thank you to Montgomery Texas Public Works for a job well done!🙌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻

This morning, the City of Montgomery proudly welcomed a new piece of living history with the planting of our Liberty Tree!

Donated by the Daughters of the American Revolution National Headquarters (DAR) and expertly planted by U.S. Trees of Texas , this beautiful tree stands as a lasting tribute to the enduring ideals of liberty, patriotism, and the generations who have shaped our nation's story.

Just as the original Liberty Trees served as gathering places that inspired unity and freedom during the American Revolution, Montgomery's Liberty Tree will grow alongside our community for generations to come reminding us of our shared history and bright future.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Daughters of the American Revolution for this meaningful gift and to US Trees of Texas for helping bring this vision to life.
We invite everyone to stop by Liberty Park at the corner of Eva Street and Liberty Street to admire this special addition, and watch it flourish for years to come.

🌳 Here's to putting down roots that will inspire future generations.
