This week’s featured partner is an architecture firm we are working with on an exciting multi-year project in Columbia County, NY. We are thrilled to be collaborating with their award-winning team to plan and build a beautiful new home for our client.

With their clients' aspirations as the central focus, Neubauer Ennis Architects has a reputation for designing thoughtful and enduring homes on coastal and mountain landscapes. The synergy between their team and their clients is what makes a project successful. They believe every building matters and the buildings they design emerge from their clients’ family stories and the unique landscapes they are sited in. While they look at each opportunity through the lens of an architectural adventure, at the end of the day, every project is about people.

Recognized for their intentional, context-driven work, Neubauer Ennis has been featured in a wide range of leading architecture and design publications including Forbes, New England Home, Luxe, Boston Home, Cape Cod Home, Residential Design Magazine, and Country Living, among others—reflecting a body of work that resonates both nationally and regionally for its clarity, craft and enduring sense of place.

“Jack and his team are thoughtful, engaged, excited to be on a collaborative team, and bring forward resources, ideas and solutions.” – Jill Neubauer, Owner-Architect, Neubauer Ennis Architects

As the fresh spring leaves burst into deep greens, we are inspired by the power of thoughtful landscape design to create sustainable, year-round sanctuaries. This week’s partner feature puts the spotlight on Akroyd Design Group. JMC worked with Rob Akroyd on a multi-year project a few years back when he was operating Greylock Design Associates. We truly value our partnership with Rob and look forward to collaborating with him again in future.

Akroyd Design Group offers landscape architecture and land planning design, site planning and project management. Its mission is to thoughtfully integrate the physical, environmental and horticultural sciences into the design of outdoor spaces — crafting landscapes that are not only functional and enduring, but also harmonious, immersive and responsive to their natural surroundings.

“JMC is an exemplary team of professionals — consistently collaborative, unwavering in their attention to detail, and steadfastly focused on delivering an exceptional finished product.” – Founder/Owner Robert Akroyd,

Our team meets every quarter to review project updates, company goals, financials and key objectives for the remainder of the year. We were thrilled to be joined by John Abrams, Founder & President Emeritus of South Mountain Company, for this month’s team meeting at our offices in the Berkshires. John shared some of his company story and his next act after retirement in 2022. was started in 1973 and a half-century in, they have plenty to celebrate — meaningful work, a beautiful place to do it, and rich, reciprocal relationships with clients, trade partners and their community. A lot can grow from humble beginnings and JMC is completely aligned with this plan as our own company evolves into the future.

Completed in Fall 2025, this exceptional hilltop farmhouse offers spacious rooms with strategic window placement to take in the views of the Berkshire-Taconic range. The driveway winds through a mature grove of apple trees with mountains visible from every angle. The careful renovation and meticulous construction of this very special home offers large rooms with strategic window placement to capture all the views.

We appreciated working with our clients – they made the work truly enjoyable. Special thanks to architect Jim Leitch, interior designer Leah Luczynski, Raycroft Meyer Landscape Architecture and Mountain Home Landscape for working with us on this project. Special thanks to Roomful of Teeth and Caroline Shaw for the use of Courante as the background music.

Roomful of Teeth is a two-time Grammy-winning vocal ensemble based in North Adams, MA. Combining classical training with diverse, global vocal traditions, the group was created to expand the expressive boundaries of the human voice. The song Courante is the third movement of Partita for 8 Voices, a Pulitzer Prize–winning vocal composition by Caroline Adelaide Shaw written for and performed by Roomful of Teeth. The piece reimagines a traditional Baroque dance using rapid hocketed breath sounds inspired by Inuit vocal traditions.

As a cornerstone of high-performance construction, tile uniquely bridges the gap between extreme durability and aesthetic versatility. JMC works with our design partners to integrate long-lasting, hygienic and sustainable surfaces into our custom builds to enhance both the structural integrity and aesthetic value of your home. By collaborating with premier partners, we transform kitchens and bathrooms into spaces that are both functional and creative. We like to call them works of art ;-) Visit our website for more info.
