Today, the Wichita Business Journal highlighted HFG and the approach that has guided our work from the beginning: listening first.

Every healthcare facility serves a unique community, and the best design solutions come from understanding the people, workflows, and challenges behind each project. That's why we believe every great healthcare project starts with asking the right questions and listening to the answers.

Most people don’t think a disaster will happen, until it does. That’s why it is vital to design for what you can’t predict. From sightlines and secure access points to staff-controlled lockdown zones, CPTED-informed healthcare spaces are built to respond swiftly in emergencies. It’s hard to measure what you’ve prevented, but it’s even harder to ignore the cost of not being prepared.

HFG was honored to present to the Sunflower Health Network at Ellsworth County Medical Center last week!

Our team shared the story behind the master planning process and then had the opportunity to give a tour through Ellsworth's newly completed rehab therapy space. That space originated directly from the facility master plan we developed alongside the hospital's strategic plan and community health needs assessment.

It's always meaningful to see a plan come to life and share that story with the people invested in it. Thank you to Ellsworth Medical Center and the Sunflower Health Network for having us!

This week, we had the joy of celebrating Ashley and her growing family with a baby shower here at HFG! 🎀

Between the pink decorations, sweet treats, and a hilarious round of baby food taste testing, it was the perfect afternoon of celebration. Congratulations Ashley, we can't wait to watch this next chapter unfold!

Since the groundbreaking in April, progress has steadily been making way on the new Salina Family Healthcare Center!

In collaboration with McCownGordon Construction, this patient-focused 76,000 SF facility will offer medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry, and pharmacy services all under one roof. With new exterior and interior renderings completed, this project is on a clear path forward to completion next year.

With every step forward, we’re excited to see this project come to life!

The statistics on violence in healthcare are impossible to ignore. They're a call to action for everyone involved in designing these spaces.

CPTED gives healthcare architects and facility owners the framework to respond. Through intentional design decisions that prioritize safety, visibility, and controlled access, we can create environments that protect patients, families, and the healthcare workers who serve them every day.

The people inside these buildings deserve spaces designed with their safety in mind. Our CPTED services provide healthcare organizations with an added layer of analysis and expertise to help achieve that goal.

Last month our team had the chance to tour the new Children's Mercy Wichita facility before its opening to the public this summer!

Developed in collaboration with HDR, this project brings a new pediatrics center to northeast Wichita that will help expand access to specialized pediatric care for families across the region, serving more than 10,000 patients.

We’re grateful to have played a part in supporting this important project and look forward to seeing the facility officially open very soon.
