We are happy to announce that X Factory will continue a new vibrant life in the hands of OldMan Billy and his company, Totally Advanced Racing Products. You have noticed that our page and our company have been almost dormant for close to a year. During that time our great friend and former racing team manager OldMan Billy has designed and prototyped several new products to improve performance on several different cars.
Paul’s life has moved in a wonderful but different direction. He is married, they have a 1-year old girl and are planning the next child. He has supported the family with a full time job engineering robotic medical devices that sneaky-snake up inside your arteries. His wife, an E.R. doctor, works a crazy schedule, so Paul spends much “free” time with the baby, shopping, doing all that “normal” stuff. Right now there’s very little time in his life for X Factory.
So X Factory and Billy have decided to go forward in a new direction to continue giving The Family the fastest, easiest to drive R/C cars out there. And, yes, it will continue to be The Family – that’s the only way we know to serve you. Top quality at fair prices
The X Factory shop and warehouse facility has been closed and everything is now in Billy’s shop. Totally Advanced Racing Products starts now as the umbrella organization producing R/C gear under its own name and continuing to supply X Factory parts. Paul and I will consult with Billy, and I will handle order fulfillment. The logos of OldMan Billy, X Factory, and T.A.R.P. will appear on products, sometimes together, sometimes separately, as is appropriate.
A carbon fiber chassis kit for the B6.1 is in production now and will be launched very soon. This will be followed shortly by CF chassis kits for the AE truck and S.C. We are working now on CF chassis kits for other brands of cars to be released later this fall. Several B6.1 kits have been in the hands of experienced drivers who are turning consistent laps 2/10-3/10 sec/lap faster. On certain tracks, consistent ½ sec/lap
X Factory thanks the entire Family for their great support over the last 16 years, from the beginning in 2003, to Greg Hodapp winning the R.O.A.R. National Championship with the original X – 5, to the wonderful years when Brian Kinwald taught us so much and Ellis Stafford dominated the U.K National Championship with the X – 6 Squared, through the CF cars, the X – 6 Cubed, X - 60CF, and SCX - 60CF. We can’t forget the great association with Chris “Speedy Dad” Krieg who designed and produced the chassis for our first short course, the SCX - 60. And so many others, too numerous to mention them all and unfair to some if we mentioned others.
Paul intends to return full-time to the R/C scene in a few years when his wife’s schedule settles down and the children don’t require so much of his time. The plan is for Paul to re-integrate with X Factory in association with OldMan Billy. So check out the Oldman Billy FB page and the brand new T.A.R.P. FB page.
