For all to enjoy! Go see the White Haven Community . Summer blooms are still in, and fall blooms are now overlapping.

The volunteer group has been doing great keeping it w**d free and freshly mulched.

Grow your own food. Bear Creek Organics can help. Here is one peach tree. Frost and pests were hard on fruit trees this year accross Pennsylvania, but this goes to show how one little tree can still support your food sovereignty. This tree normally yields much more fruit on a good year, but it is a frost tollerant and disease resistant variety.

We designed and installed a full property edible landscape at this location since 2018. So this tree is only one small piece of the whole.

Aronia berries came after this, raspberries coming soon, and paw paws after that.

And the pollinator supporting rain garden brings life all year long.

Harvesting Amaranth at Bear Creek Organics. Super healthy and easy to grow grains and greens. Just might become a w**d if you don't harvest the "zillions" of seeds in time.

Amaranth is an ancient food crop native to the Americas, with a long history of cultivation by Indigenous peoples from Mexico and Central America to the Andes of South America.

Both the leaves and seeds are edible—the young leaves can be cooked like spinach, while the protein-rich seeds can be harvested and cooked like a grain. Amaranth loves summer heat, produces beautiful colorful flower heads, and can produce thousands of seeds from a single plant.

A beautiful, nutritious, and resilient crop with thousands of years of history.
