❄️ Winter Safety at Home with Auggie! 🐾
Meet Auggie — the QCR Safety Dog!
Auggie is here to help kids learn how to stay safe, warm, and happy during the cold winter months.
Winter can be lots of fun, but it also brings some safety hazards around the home. Remember these important tips:
🏠 Stay away from heaters and fireplaces. Never touch them or play near them.
🔥 Tell an adult if you see something that looks unsafe, such as a damaged cord, smoke, or a fire.
🧤 Dress warm! Wear a coat, hat, gloves, and warm shoes when going outside.
🧊 Watch out for ice! Walk carefully and stay away from frozen ponds, lakes, and other unsafe ice.
🚪 Keep exits clear. Never block doors or windows with toys, furniture, or other items.
⚡ Be careful around electricity. Never put anything into an outlet or play with electrical cords.
🕯️ Leave candles and matches alone. Only adults should use them.
🐶 And remember Auggie's most important rule:
When you're not sure if something is safe — STOP and ask a grown-up!
