This cantilever slide gate was installed for a commercial client. Galvanized chain link is built to handle regular use and hold up long-term, and Cantilever gates are a good choice where a swing gate isn't practical for the space. We find them to be a good solution for commercial clients with space limitations who want to prioritize security.

A gate is only as safe as the hardware on it. Because pool safety is a priority, we recommend the MagnaLatch by D&D Technologies on pool gates. The release is positioned at 54 inches or higher, out of reach for young children, and it self-latches every time the gate closes. There's also a version called the MagnaLatch ALERT that includes a built-in alarm if the gate is opened or left ajar.

If you have a wood fence and are thinking of staining it, here are a few tips:

- The general rule of thumb is to wait at least one year before staining pressure-treated wood. It needs time to dry out fully or the stain won't pe*****te properly.
- Cedar can typically be stained sooner, but we recommend letting it weather slightly first to allow the stain to better adhere.
- Oil-based stains generally pe*****te deeper and last longer than latex
- Make sure the wood is clean and dry before applying anything. Staining over dirt or moisture is a shortcut that isn’t worth it!

Just remember, once you start staining a fence, you’re on the hook to maintain it!

Wondering if you need a new fence? Sometimes, a simple repair on an existing fence will do!

Here’s how to know:

- Wood: Isolated rot or damage doesn’t warrant a replacement, but multiple rotten posts, widespread decay and old wood fences (20+ years old) are likely beyond repair.

- Vinyl: A single cracked or broken section can often be replaced. But widespread discoloration, warping, or structural failure at the posts usually means it’s time to replace.

- Aluminum: Individual pickets and rails can be swapped out without replacing the whole fence. Corrosion at the posts or a section that took a serious hit may warrant more significant work.

- Chain link: Torn or sagging fabric is often repairable. Bent or rusted posts are a bigger issue and can mean replacement depending on how far it's spread.
