We're having a blast over here watching all the different pollinators enjoying the Common Boneset at the nursery! This is its time to shine, and the long lasting blooms are a great late summer nectar source before most of the asters are shining. Stop on by Butterfly Effect Farm to see the great examples in our garden and take some home with you!

We're open Thursdays through Sundays 10am-3pm 🌿

If you don't have milkweed, now's the time to get some! The monarchs are laying eggs for the migrating generation now, so those butterflies can make the journey to Mexico this fall. If you notice aphids on your milkweed at this time of year, that's completely normal - and a sign that you're doing the right thing by providing pesticide free habitat! Beneficial predators will soon show up to help control their populations, and the monarchs don't mind them.

We've got rose milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) in stock, stop on by Thursdays through Sundays 10am-3pm πŸ¦‹πŸŒΏ

If you have a sunny to partly shady area in your yard with consistent moisture, then this late summer blooming beauty is for you! Bumblebees, butterflies, and hummingbirds all love Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica), and it adds such a lovely pop of blue to your garden. If it's in a spot with less moisture then it can adapt as long as it doesn't get full sun.

We've got lots in stock right now at Butterfly Effect Farm, and we're open Thursdays through Sundays 10am-3pm πŸ’™πŸŒΏπŸπŸ¦‹

Have you seen Spotted Bee Balm (Monarda punctata)?!?! It is looking absolutely amazing right now, and has such unique, almost fantasy-inspired blooms. Yes, it is considered a short-lived perennial, but it will self-sow reliably year after year. We absolutely love the stunning blooms that stop you in your tracks, and we have so much fun watching all the pollinators enjoying it.

Butterfly Effect Farm, open Thursdays through Sundays 10am-3pm.

Purple lovegrass (Eragrostis spectabilis) is putting on a lovely show all over right now. Have you noticed that purpley-red misty hue along the roadsides lately? That's purple lovegrass, and it's just as fantastic in the home landscape as it is in wild areas!

We're buzzing with excitement over mountain mints right now, and Hoary Mountain Mint is definitely a favorite! We've still got some left in our DIY kit buffet section, so you can either buy one, or buy multiples and save a little πŸ’°.

Looking forward to seeing you Thursday through Sunday 10am-3pm this coming weekend! πŸπŸ¦‹πŸŒΏ

Moth Week may be over, but for us it's a season-long celebration! Check out some of the moths we attracted last night, or at least the ones that hung around long enough for a photo πŸ˜‚.

We've got a few previous reels focusing on these important pollinators, and how you can support them at home. Stop on by when we're open, Thursdays through Sundays 10am-3pm, to talk to our resident moth enthusiast, Danielle, and learn more πŸ’šπŸŒΏπŸƒ
