Furnaces rarely quit without warning. They usually start talking a few months ahead of time, and October is when most people finally hear it.

We had one of our techs walk through the three sounds worth paying attention to when your furnace kicks on this fall, the kind that mean it is asking for help.

Watch before you need to know this. It is a lot easier to remember now than at 6am when it actually happens.

Already hearing one of these? Call us at 715.201.3485 before it gets cold.

Mike didn't leave a review. He called the office to say it. Said Ryan knew the tech, explained it in plain English, and showed up on time. Nice work, Ryan.

When's the last time a service tech actually explained what they were doing?

Once the windows close for the season, the air in your home keeps moving through the same system all winter.
The Fresh-Aire UV APCO-X Ultra installs right inside your furnace and treats that air every time the system runs.
It uses UV light and a carbon filter to cut down on odors, mold, germs and the everyday chemicals that come
from cleaning products, paint and carpet.
Upkeep is one lamp change every three years, and the unit has a light on it that tells you when it is time. It
carries a lifetime warranty and is certified to produce zero ozone.
$100 off through September 8. Available for furnaces only.

Book a visit at https://pgainc.net/?spdirect=c6gxs844p1 and we will tell you if it fits your furnace.

You've owned a toilet your entire life and probably never seen the inside of one.

Here it is. That bowl isn't solid ceramic. It's a hollow water channel.

Water comes out of the small holes under the rim to wash the sides, and on most modern toilets a separate jet at the bottom fires straight into the trap to start the siphon. That jet is the difference between one flush and three.

Here's the useful part: those openings clog with mineral scale, and around here almost everyone has hard water. A weak or lopsided flush is usually buildup you can't see, not a toilet that's dying.

Grab a small mirror, look up under the rim, and if the holes look crusty, white vinegar and a piece of stiff wire will get you most of the way there. Never mix bleach with an acidic cleaner.

Anyone else genuinely not know a toilet was hollow inside?

Do you know if the furnace in your house is the original one, or has it already been swapped out at some point?

Most homeowners genuinely do not know, and that is worth fixing. A furnace usually has 15 to 20 goodyears in it, so whether yours is original or a replacement changes the whole picture of how much time you have left.

You do not need to go anywhere near it to figure this out. Check your closing paperwork or home inspection report if you still have it, most list appliance ages. Or just think back: was there ever a permit, an invoice, or a receipt taped inside a drawer somewhere for "new furnace installed"? A lot of home shave one tucked away.

Tell us in the comments: original to the house, or replaced at some point? If you are not sure, guess. We will help you figure out what it means either way.

Comment "original" or "replaced," and roughly what year if you know it. We read every one.

Four things a smart thermostat actually does for you.

It holds a schedule, so you're not heating an empty house all day. It switches between heat and cooling on its own, which matters this time of year around here. You can check the temperature from your phone. And it keeps an eye on the humidity and air quality inside your home.

$100 off a Honeywell Home smart thermostat through September 8, 2026. Pick a time that works for you at the https://pgainc.net/?spdirect=c6gxs844p1, or give us a call at (715) 201-9202.

Two other companies looked at it. Neither one figured out what was wrong. Javier did. Thanks for the trust, Lee.
